Annapurna Siklis Trek

A newly discovered trekking trail to let the experience the new flavor of hiking and trekking Sikles routes is located in the southern Gurung settlement of Nepal above the Mardi Khola (1,980m) facing Annapurna IV to the north and Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal to the east. Short but massively enriched culturally and naturally, Sikles Trek is so far a rewarding choice for the hill hikers since the trek offers spectacular mountain view with a variety of terrain from lowland villages and rich terrain up to Nepal’s largest Gurung (Gurkha) village as well as blooming forests of rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal specially in the spring.

Age-long rituals of the ethnic groups regarding kinship, birth and death fascinate the travelers here. The region is considered to be famous for bird-watching as the region is densely forested with various flowering and non-flowering species of plants. The entire trail you follow in this region is virgin and measurably pristine. Besides, exchanging local culture, you can enjoy organic local products to unfold their daily activities and culture.

The classical trail along Modi Khola accompanying bamboo and rhododendron forest, Sikles trek takes you to beautiful and captivating villages Sikles, Tang Ting and Bhujung. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,365m. 4,478 ft
It is a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. A representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel. At the hotel you will be briefed about your daily activities.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley 
Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, its two major neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural and religious significances. There will be a half day guided tour to the famous and biggest Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal Boudhanath, the 15th century Palace of 55 windows and Swoyambhunath

Day 03 : Kathmandu to Pokhara Drive
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (840m. 2’755 ft.) which takes about 7 hours. We depart early morning at 7 oclock for the 7 hours drive by tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara. (about 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu.) As we climb out of the Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. We follow the Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourists paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with its beauty. We can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 30 minutes.

Day 04 : Pokhara to Bijayapu khola – kalikasthan(1’370m. 4’494 ft.) about 5 hour Trek
Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur Khola (Bijayapur Army Camp)-Kalikasthan (1’370m. 4’494 ft.) which takes about five hours. A broad trail starts through rice fields near the Army Camp, and then ascends through Rakhigaon to a Chautara, a resting place under a large pipal tree. En route, we can enjoy the views in panorama. Now the trails climb gently along a ridge top through the Brahmin and Chhetris villages towards Kalikasthan at (1’370m. 4’494 ft). At the end, we should climb a short distance to the campsite which is situated above the village with panoramic view of Mountain, Begnas Tal and Pokhara city.

Day 05 : Kalikasthan – Lamakhet (1’680m. 5’511 ft.) about 6 hour Trek
Trek from Kalikasthan to LamaKhet , which takes us about 6 hours. We begin following gently path passing through local villages of mixed ethnic groups, rice terraces up to Mardi Khola. Now the trek is easy as we walk along the riverbank. En route we cross Bhaise, Nawaldanda, to reach Lama Khet. It is a small village where stay overnight. This place is surrounded by green hills which exhilarates us.

Day 06 : Lamakhet – Siklis (1’980m. 6’496 ft.) about 7 hour Trek
Trek from LamaKhet to Siklis and it takes about 6 hours.The trail stretches at flat level along the river bank until we reach Khilan Gaon. After this, we follow path which is gently up at some distance and steeply up for some hours. En route we pass Parju village. The trail again climbs till Siklis village. It is one of the oldest and big Gurung village. Most of the people serve in Indian and British Army.

Day 07 : Siklis - forest Camp (2’796m. 9’173 ft.) about 6 hour Trek
Trek from Siklis to Neuli Kharka or Forest camp, which takes us about 6 hours. This trek goes through rhododendron and oak forests following gently ascent path in the beginning. After some distance, we walk over the flat land. Forest Camp is surrounded by forests.

Day 08 : Forest Camp - Ghale Gaon (2’100m. 6’889 ft.) about 6 hour Trek
Trek from Forest Camp to Ghale Gaon and it takes us about 6 hours. We trek through forests covered with rhododendron. While walking we cross the highest pass of this trek. After pass, we descend steeply to reach Ghale Gaon. It is a small village which is mainly inhabited by Gurung and Magar community.

Day 09 : Ghale Gaon – Pokhara (840m. 2’755 ft.) about 4 hours Trek
Trek from Ghale Gaon to Pokhara which takes us about 4 hours. The supposed trek descends gently upto Hyamgja (1’170m. 3’838 ft.) We board vehicle here to go to Pokhara.

Day 10 : Pokhara – Kathmandu (1’365. 4’478 ft.) about 7 hour drive
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu and it takes us about 7 hours including lunch. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, we head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepals first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, we could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe we climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city. We are then directly taken to the hotel in kathmandu

Day 11 : Kathmandu free day 
This is the free day and we can exploring in thamel for your shopping .In the evening we will takes you for farewell dinner with cultural dance.

Day 12 : Final Departure.
All too soon its time to bid Nepal farewell and one realizes that we can never be intimate, only acquainted with this amazing adventure Mountains.
